Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. This position reports to our offices at 1200 N. Federal Boulevard in Denver three days a week and telecommutes remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days. The Family and Adult Assistance Division (FAAD) is hiring for an Eligibility Technician Lead who is driven and passionate with a leadership mindset. The Lead Eligibility Technicians will encourage, motivate, support and assist various Eligibility Specialists and Technicians in accomplishing division processing and accuracy goals. Specifically, as a Lead Eligibility Technician you will: Provide coverage for the supervisor as neededAssist with maintaining daily operational standardsBe adaptable and flexible with your work scheduleSupport Eligibility Specialists and technicians on their team and maintain a thorough and updated knowledge of all public assistance programs, including CBMS, SNAP, Medical Assistance, Adult Financial and/or Colorado Works programsInterpret and explain rules and regulations to staff and help manage team workloads and troubleshootingProvide on-the-job training, mentor employees, and collaborate with the training unit on course content, materials, and claims reviewContribute to the development of the performance enhancement plan, document performance, provide performance feedback, and furnish information for the formal performance evaluationAssist Eligibility specialists and technicians with processing and determinations of difficult and/or complex cases and act as an arbitrator when problems occur between applicants/clients and employeesAssign and distribute work, review work for accuracy and completeness, and return assignments with recommendations for proper completion. Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics: Extensive Professional experience determining eligibility for Cash Assistance, Adult Financial and/or Colorado Works programs or willing to learn.Strong leadership skills with a commitment to working with intention and sensitivity amongst a diverse demographic of coworkers and clienteleExperience demonstrating adaptability as business needs evolveProven professional experience utilizing Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS)Proven success in working in a fast-paced and evolving work environment, adhering to quick turnaround times, and executing accurate follow up and follow throughDedication to developing and maintaining positive working relationships while encouraging cooperation, pride and a commitment to teamwork Required Minimum Qualifications Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate. Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience determining eligibility for a variety of public assistance programs. Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
