Position Summary

The Lead Electronic Technician is responsible for calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment throughout the facility. This role partners closely with the mechanical maintenance team to ensure reliable operations, minimize downtime, and support overall facility performance along with managing vendor relations and expediting parts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with vendors to order and expedite parts in support of maintenance operations and other departments.
  • Install, inspect, and calibrate industrial control and power distribution systems.
  • Perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial equipment.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, including maintenance logs, manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Prioritize and execute work based on work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and calibration requirements.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from department managers to support operational efficiency.
  • Oversee and evaluate work performed by third-party contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with OEM and Voith standards for safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends as required.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems up to 600V, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and machine documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with electric motors, drives, and PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and communication systems troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with automation integration processes.
  • Understanding of current NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
  • Experience with conduit bending and installation (EMT and rigid).

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or higher in Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (relevant military training considered). OR 5 - 7 years experience as an E&I Technician or Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing environment
