About the role

The Lead Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design project teams to create world-class designs for various types of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. The role involves managing project teams from concept through completion, adapting designs to fit budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Prepare electrical equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
  • Review electrical equipment vendor drawings; coordinate with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers.
  • Participate in the development of project schedules, scopes, budgets, staffing plans, and construction plans.
  • Manage change orders effectively.
  • Apply expert knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Develop and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present cost proposals and qualification statements.
  • Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Report on project performance.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes.
  • Communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
  • Comply with company and site safety policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program with at least 7 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • EPC project experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of FE exam and at least 7 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program with a Master’s Degree and at least 6 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to solve problems methodically.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.

  • Compensation range: $160,000.00 - $360,000.00 yearly.
