Monitors developments in digital creation and technology instruction and identifies opportunities to develop new teaching support resources for the University community. Creates training materials to support faculty use of educational software and delivers innovative, live training programs to faculty and staff. SVC HS Information Technology The Lead Editor serves as the primary post-production specialist for the Health Sciences Media Production team, providing expertise in video and audio editing, motion graphics, visual effects, color correction, audio finishing, media encoding, and digital asset management. Reporting to the Media Production Coordinator/Studio Manager, this position works closely with the Production Coordinator and other team members to deliver high-quality multimedia content supporting teaching, learning, and institutional initiatives. The Lead Editor serves as the team's senior post-production resource, making creative and technical decisions, establishing best practices, and ensuring completed media meets established quality, accessibility, and University standards. Candidates must provide a portfolio or sample of editing work to be considered. Essential Functions Perform video and audio editing, color correction and grading, motion graphics, visual effects, compositing, and audio mastering. Render, encode, and prepare completed media for appropriate distribution platforms. Ensure final deliverables meet established technical, accessibility, and visual standards. Manage multiple post-production projects and deadlines. Provide technical and creative guidance on post-production approaches and workflows. Establish and promote post-production standards and best practices. Serve as a technical resource for complex media production and editing challenges. Ingest, organize, and manage video, audio, graphics, and other production assets. Maintain project files, metadata, footage logs, and a growing archive of completed media. Work with faculty, staff, and other clients to understand project goals and gather feedback. Incorporate revisions and communicate clearly regarding deliverables and timelines. Collaborate with the Studio Manager, Production Coordinator, and production staff throughout the production process. Assist faculty, staff, and students with appropriate use of studio spaces, production equipment, and software. Troubleshoot media hardware, software, storage, and workflow issues. Perform routine equipment inspections and recommend repairs, upgrades, or improvements. Physical Effort Duties are primarily sedentary, but this role may be required to assist in off-site productions where portable equipment is used.
