About the role

The ED Tech Lead provides direct and indirect patient care under supervision, supporting patients of all ages with acute and chronic health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, ECG recordings, oxygen therapy, catheterization, and patient assessments
  • Assist with procedures, mobility, nutrition, and elimination
  • Serve as a resource and trainer for other technicians
  • Manage scheduling, payroll, supply ordering, and restraint audits
  • Promote a safe, clean, and efficient environment
  • Precept and train new staff and prepare training materials
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives
  • Maintain inventory and ensure adherence to policies
  • Promote patient safety, infection control, and personal safety
  • Support patient wellness through environment maintenance and assistance with mobility, nutrition, and elimination procedures
  • Perform diagnostic tests and manage patient care activities
  • Maintain sterile techniques and assist with special procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulations like EMTALA
  • Promote patient satisfaction and safety through attentive care, communication, and environment management

Qualifications

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior emergency department technician experience

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Strong problem-solving and mentoring skills
