This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in high‑quality finishes, communicates clearly, and shows up ready to work every day. You’ll handle repairs, texture matching, Level 5 finishing, and professional painting on residential and light commercial projects. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead, mentor and delegate tasks to junior technicians on job sitesTrain junior technicians on proper techniques and safetyTroubleshoot issues and provide solutionsResponsible for managing to completion tasks as needed based on customer work order:Drywall repair — small and large patches, crack repair, water‑damage restorationLevel 5 finishing — skim coating, surface prep, flawless final surfacesTexture matching — orange peel, knockdown, hand textures, custom blendsInterior painting — brush, roll, spray, cut‑in work, color matchingEnsure quality workmanship and project timelines meet customer needs and company standardsCommunicate with customers and office staff in a timely mannerManage materials and tools inventoryAdditional tasks as assignedRequired Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional experience in drywall finishing and/or paintingStrong knowledge of drywall materials, tools, and installation methodsProven ability to perform Level 5 finish work- skim coating, surface prep, flawless final surfaces Experienced texture matching skills across multiple texture typesAbility to assess repairs and recommend best‑practice solutionsStrong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detailFluent in reading and writing EnglishMust possess a valid driver's license and be legally authorized to operate a motor vehicle in IllinoisMust have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company and commercial auto insurance requirements which can vary by vendor:No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 yearsNo reckless driving convictions within the past 3 yearsNo more than 1 moving violation within the past 3 yearsNo more than 1 at-fault accident within the past 5 yearsNo current suspension or revocation of driving privilegesMust be able to safely operate company-owned commercial vans and transport tools, materials, and equipmentEmployment involving company vehicle operation is contingent upon successful completion of a driving record review and approval under company insurance requirementsMust maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employmentPreferred Qualifications Self‑starter who can work independentlyCustomer‑friendly communication styleConsistent, high‑quality craftsmanship About Hole In The Wall Drywall Repair At Hole in the Wall Drywall Repair, we're a local, trusted team specializing in restoring damaged drywall from water damage, re-pipes, and everyday wear and tear.
