About the role

Leidos is seeking a Lead Distribution Engineer in the Framingham, MA area. The role requires passion for electric utility design engineering and dedication to maintaining high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages
  • Perform engineering design and analysis
  • Potentially work on programmatic/ capital/ reliability design (e.g., 3rd party attachment, Make Ready, overloaded transformers, reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc.)
  • Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team
  • Review engineering design packages with clients
  • Review and organize existing program work
  • Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence
  • Advocate client priorities
  • Interact directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basis
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews
  • Cook up conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
  • Aid in work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
  • Comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role could possibly require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience working electric distribution projects in a consulting environment for electric utilities or working directly at an electric utility
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; Additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of engineering-specific bachelor's degree
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
  • Experience with engineering design quality control
  • Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysis
  • Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated

Qualifications

  • Valid U.S. driver's license

Pay

The pay range for this position is $92,300.00 - $166,850.00.

Schedule

This position is hybrid in nature, with 3 days/week spent working in the office and 2 days/week working remotely.
