About the role
Leidos is seeking a Lead Distribution Engineer in the Framingham, MA area. The role requires passion for electric utility design engineering and dedication to maintaining high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages
- Perform engineering design and analysis
- Potentially work on programmatic/ capital/ reliability design (e.g., 3rd party attachment, Make Ready, overloaded transformers, reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc.)
- Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team
- Review engineering design packages with clients
- Review and organize existing program work
- Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence
- Advocate client priorities
- Interact directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basis
- Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews
- Cook up conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
- Aid in work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
- Comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role could possibly require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience working electric distribution projects in a consulting environment for electric utilities or working directly at an electric utility
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; Additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of engineering-specific bachelor's degree
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- Experience with engineering design quality control
- Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysis
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated

Pay
The pay range for this position is $92,300.00 - $166,850.00.
Schedule
This position is hybrid in nature, with 3 days/week spent working in the office and 2 days/week working remotely.
