About the role
The Maintenance Lead Technician reports to a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. This role oversees a group of technicians to ensure all repairs and maintenance of equipment comply with safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain expert knowledge of and proficiency in various vehicle components and systems, including chassis, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engine repair, and more.
- Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication.
- Provide direction to technicians to ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed safely and efficiently.
- Schedule repair work to minimize lost productivity.
- Inspect repairs done by third-party vendors to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
- Diagnose and identify sources of malfunctions using electronic tools.
- Complete applicable Company training programs.
- Handle Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities as needed.
- Act as a mentor to technicians.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience (plus).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) (plus).
- A Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License (plus).
- A valid Driver’s License.
