Lead Designer

About the role

We are seeking a full-time, in-person Lead Designer to join our growing team at HHI Builders. This is a senior-level role for an experienced residential designer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys both the creative and technical sides of design.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients to understand their vision
• Guide clients through design decisions and material selections
• Collaborate with our architectural designer and draftsman to create construction-ready plans
• Translate client goals into thoughtful, functional, and buildable designs
• Work approximately 70% on design and 30% client facing
• Help shape and improve the design department as we continue to grow

Requirements

• Strong design instincts
• Excellent client communication skills
• The ability to translate client goals into thoughtful, functional, and buildable designs

Qualifications

• Experience in residential design
• Proficiency in design software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
