Lead Custodial Worker - Tulsa, OK

About the role

The Lead Custodial Worker oversees daily custodial operations at the Page Belcher Federal Building, providing work direction to custodial personnel, ensuring cleaning services meet contractual requirements, maintaining quality standards, and performing custodial duties alongside the team. This position reports to the Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily custodial activities.
• Assign work areas and monitor completion of scheduled tasks.
• Inspect completed work to ensure contract compliance.
• Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom cleaning, trash removal, and restocking.
• Clean offices, conference rooms, common areas, stairwells, entrances, windows, and glass surfaces.
• Operate commercial custodial equipment including floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
• Maintain janitorial closets and supplies.
• Report maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, and supply shortages.
• Train custodial personnel on procedures and safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USPS, and company policies.
• Complete quality control reports and required documentation.
• Assist with emergencies and special cleaning projects.
• Perform limited grounds maintenance duties, including litter removal, sweeping sidewalks, emptying exterior receptacles, light landscaping support, snow/ice mitigation, and other exterior maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including custodial, grounds maintenance, or other facility support functions within training and qualifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum two years of commercial custodial experience.
• Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift.
• Ability to pass required USPS background screening.

Pay

Expected pay rate: $17.00 per hour.

Schedule

The position is primarily onsite and located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
