PURPOSE/DEFINITION

HI USA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit education association. Our purpose is to "inspire a deeper understanding of people, places, and cultures for a more tolerant world."

MISSION

As a non-profit, the revenues we receive through overnight stays and memberships are reinvested in mission delivery.

PURPOSE/DEFINITION

We bring travelers together in the largest hostel network in the USA, but that's just the start. From local tours and experiences to experiential learning programs, HI USA strives to bring moments of cultural understanding to our guests and community members.

VISION

HI USA is a member-based organization that reinvests its surpluses back into its hostels and programs to ensure they can have an even greater impact year after year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead hostel guests to local Chicago cultural events such as parades, concerts in the park, street festivals, and more.
  • Engage with people from around the world, sharing your knowledge about Chicago history and the history of our many communities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a resident of Chicago or the Chicago area.

SKILLS

  • Interpersonal skills
  • Public speaking skills
  • Foreign language skills (optional)
  • Intercultural communication skills
