Lead CT Technologist

Job Summary

The Lead CT Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures ordered by the physician. They serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff, respond to requests for information, and manage staff effectively.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology Program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • ARRT-CT registered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of CT experience.
  • If cross-trained from another modality, must be registered within 6 months from registry eligibility.

What You Will Do In This Role

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills for appropriate care of patient populations.
  • Assess patients' and families' ability to learn and teach throughout the CT procedure.
  • Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting patient rights and dignity.
  • Assure adequate staffing according to volume and flex as necessary.
  • Cook up daily technologist assignments.
  • Ensure all exams are completed and placed in take status.
  • Operate all department equipment safely and properly.
  • Teach and mentor radiology students.
  • Implement proper exposure techniques and positioning.
  • Display knowledge of drugs, their actions, side effects, and contraindications.
  • Help manage supplies in a cost-effective manner.
