Lead CT Scan Technologist

About the role

Oversees inventory of radiologic supplies, ensures radiologic equipment is in good working order, adheres to guidelines on hygiene and infection control, monitors patients during scanning procedures, identifies and responds to allergic reactions, utilizes CT scanners to produce cross-section images, operates x-ray scanners, prepares patients for exams, performs treatments following standards, manages ED and outpatient operations, participates in staff scheduling and reviews, provides patient care, determines and sets technical parameters, ensures patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Operates head or body x-ray scanners to create computer generated cross-sectional images (CT scans).
  • Prepares patients for examinations.
  • Performs treatments that adhere to state, federal, and professional standards.
  • Manages all ED and outpatient operations on shift.
  • Participates in staff scheduling and performance reviews.
  • Provides patient care essential to various procedures.
  • Determines and sets appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
  • Ensures the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients.
  • Takes patient medical history before exams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CT registered through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Minimum (3) three years of experience in a related field.
  • Preferred Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology.
  • C.T. Tech certified preferred.
  • CPR and BLS certification preferred.
  • Minimum (5) five years of experience in a related field.

Skills

  • Knowledge of CT scanners and x-ray equipment.
  • Ability to operate and maintain medical equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive patient information.
  • Proficiency in patient preparation and care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
