Lead Corrugator

About the role
To manage and coordinate the efforts of hourly corrugating department including die cutters employees. Ensure that product specifications are met with a high standard of quality. Ensure compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for the safe, environmentally sound production of a quality product.
Responsibilities
- Safely execute all job duties as assigned and promote safety & safety programs throughout the facility.
- Maintain housekeeping excellence in accordance with the Master Clean Program.
- Back up the shift supervisor.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corrugating department including die cutters with constant emphasis on safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
- Assure conformance of WIP and FG products to company, industry, and customer specifications at minimum cost and optimum efficiency.
- Direct, teach, coach and train in corrugating departments including die cutter employees.
- Responsible for maintaining department shop floor metrics, visual controls, and continuous improvement methods to the manufacturing floor.
- Direct and execute daily production schedules.
- Ensure daily reporting and accuracy of production results.
- Maintain and enforce all GMPs.
- Participate in and ensure department is SQF audit regulation compliant.
- Monitor and administer attendance and vacation.
- Fill in for vacations and absences as needed.
- Order raw materials and supplies for the department while maintaining budgetary guidelines.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the shift supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- Prior work experience in a corrugated manufacturing plant.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Forklift License.
- In-depth knowledge of company and customer quality and quantity expectations.
- Knowledge of safety, health, and requirements and applicable programs.
- Ability to effectively manage time.
- Demonstrate ability to organize information.
- Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
- Must be able to work with other personnel in meeting production goals.
- Must be flexible on shift.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings, drug test, and criminal background check.
Work Environment
- Will be exposed to some dusty and noisy conditions periodically.
- Annual set shift schedules working 12-hour shifts.
