About the role
Indiana University (IU) Dining and Hospitality supports the IU community and guests by providing fresh, delicious, sustainably sourced cuisine in dining halls and eateries. Residential dining staff enhance the customer experience through innovative recipes, local partnerships, and a focus on nourishing the IU community.
Responsibilities
- Leads a team of full-time and student staff in preparing and serving daily menus.
- Prepares and serves food according to standardized recipes and instructions.
- Manages inventory, cleans kitchen equipment, and ensures food safety.
- Trains and guides lower-level cooks and maintains service quality.
- Coordinates with other kitchen departments and assists as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cooking experience and leadership skills.
- General knowledge at the high school level with 2 years of intermediate cook experience and leadership skills.
- Required Food Safety (ServSafe) certification within 180 days of hire.

Pay
$17.25 per hour with a shift premium of $1.50 per hour for hours worked between 2:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m., provided at least 6 hours are worked between those times.
Schedule
Mid shift hours - 11:00am - 7:30pm Monday - Friday with alternating weekends.
