About the role

Lead Content Writer role in a global organization focusing on property and casualty insurance, responsible for creating strategic content experiences that align with hybrid digital products and services. The role designs and refines customer-centered journeys using advanced design tools and collaborates across teams to deliver clear narratives that support business growth and societal resilience through informed risk awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated content strategies that align with property and casualty insurance products and services to support digital journeys and improve customer understanding of risk and coverage options through clear narratives and visual storytelling using design tools.
  • Create detailed content frameworks for web platforms, mobile interfaces, and marketing assets that guide consistent messaging across touchpoints and ensure clarity for policyholders, brokers, and internal teams in a hybrid working environment.
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers under the UI/UX practice, and engineering teams to translate complex insurance concepts into approachable copy supported by visuals crafted with Illustrator, Figma, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe XD.
  • Establish and maintain content standards, guidelines, and tone of voice that reflect organizational values, emphasize transparency in insurance offerings, and enhance trust among customers and partners.
  • Review and refine customer-facing materials including policy summaries, coverage explanations, digital onboarding flows, and support content to reduce confusion, improve self-service adoption, and decrease support inquiries.
  • Oversee content mapping for customer journeys in property and casualty insurance, including quote, bind, service, and claims stages, to ensure each interaction is supported with clear, actionable, and empathetic information.
  • Provide mentorship and structured feedback to content and design team members on narrative coherence, information hierarchy, and use of visual tools, enabling consistent delivery of high-quality content assets across channels.
  • Coordinate closely with compliance and legal stakeholders to ensure that digital and print content for insurance offerings meets regulatory expectations while remaining readable, engaging, and accessible to diverse customer groups.
  • Analyze performance metrics for content across digital channels, including engagement, conversion, and retention indicators, and use these insights to iteratively refine messaging, layouts, and interaction flows.
  • Drive alignment between marketing content and product content so that acquisition campaigns explain coverage value accurately and set realistic expectations for policyholders, contributing to long-term customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Implement structured content operations, including version control, review workflows, and documentation that support efficient hybrid collaboration across regions and time zones for day-shift teams.
  • Partner with user research and experience design colleagues to test content prototypes for policy documents, digital forms, and help centers, and adjust language and structure based on observed customer behavior and feedback.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusive language, and ethical communication practices in all content related to property and casualty insurance, helping society make informed decisions about risk protection and resilience.

Qualifications

  • Possess extensive experience as a senior or lead content professional in complex domains with at least eight years crafting narratives for digital products and services with a strong focus on customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Illustrator, Figma, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, UI/UX design practices, and Adobe XD, using these tools to plan and deliver structured content and visual systems for insurance journeys.
  • Bring proven experience working specifically within property and casualty insurance, including familiarity with core concepts such as underwriting, claims, policy structures, endorsements, and regulatory sensitivities.
  • Exhibit strong skills in information architecture, content modeling, and UX writing that support intuitive navigation for policyholders and internal users across web portals and digital applications.
  • Show evidence of collaborating effectively in hybrid work models using digital collaboration platforms and structured workflows to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams during day shifts.
  • Display excellent written communication, editing, and storytelling capabilities with the ability to balance regulatory requirements, business objectives, and customer clarity in every content artifact.
  • Illustrate a track record of using data from analytics, experiments, and user research to validate content decisions and continuously improve digital experiences in the insurance domain.

Certifications

  • Certified UX Writer or similar UX content credential.
  • Industry-recognized certification in Adobe Creative Cloud applications relevant to design and content work.

Pay

The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 and $115,000, depending on experience and other qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
