Lead Content Designer
About the role
Join us as a Lead Content Designer to drive content design, influence product strategy, shape systems, implement frameworks and execute across our digital ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of Content Development, you will lead content design across product teams and user journeys, build and scale content systems, and optimize content performance.
Responsibilities
- Independently drive content design across product teams and user journeys using research, analytics, and content audits to identify opportunities
- Translate insights from research, competitive analysis, and journey mapping into clear, actionable digital experiences
- Build and scale content systems (taxonomies, models, information architecture) and define governance (standards, guidelines, tools)
- Lead content for complex, end-to-end experiences working across teams and product lines to craft clear, accessible content that simplifies regulated information
- Drive optimization using analytics, VOC data, measurement and testing to improve content performance, ensuring quality from discovery and creation through post-launch stages
- Partner and guide cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, user-centered experiences that balance customer, business, and regulatory needs
Requirements
- 7+ years in content design, UX writing, or content strategy
- Experience leading discovery, strategy, and scalable content systems
- Strong information architecture and systems thinking skills
- Data-informed decision making and content measurement experience
- Proven cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder influence
- Experience developing guidelines and governance practices
- Background in design systems and content standards
- Portfolio demonstrating ability to guide product strategy with clear impact
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or regulated industries
- Familiarity with SEO and accessibility best practices
- Experience developing consumer websites and apps

Work at Home Requirements
- To ensure effective work, Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must have a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps.
- Wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed may not be sufficient for business needs.
- Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel
This is a remote position, but occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
