Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to uncover business challenges, opportunities, decisions, and data needs.
  • Lead workshops and working sessions to gather and refine requirements.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and reporting requirements that support solution design.
  • Act as the “bridge” between business leaders and technical teams ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and priorities.
  • Support technical design and data modeling sessions by ensuring business context, process requirements, and user needs are represented in solution decisions.
  • Partner with data modelers and engineers to analyze source systems, validate data definitions, document transformation requirements, and ensure source-to-target mappings accurately reflect business rules and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support UAT, testing, and data validation activities using SQL and other tools to verify business requirements, assess data quality, and ensure expected outcomes are achieved.
  • Analyze business processes, source data, and reporting outputs to identify gaps, inconsistencies, quality concerns, or opportunities for improvement and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Connect requirements and solutions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Help define KPIs, business processes, and success measures that enable value realization.
  • Support adoption through training, documentation, and stakeholder communications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Consultant, or similar role in data, analytics, or business transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of how business processes translate into data and reporting needs (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations).
  • Proven ability to connect business strategy to data and analytics solutions, driving measurable outcomes.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze source data, validate business requirements, investigate data quality issues, and support testing and solution design.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, GCP) and an understanding of data warehousing, lakehouse concepts, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and BI reporting environments.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills capable of engaging both executive and technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, and data management best practices.
  • Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, and data engineering principles.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (Jira, Confluence).

Skills

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data storytelling and presenting complex data insights to senior leadership.
  • Experience with data privacy and security best practices.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $115,000-160,000 per year. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, scope of role and budget.
