Lead Construction Inspector
Base location is flexible, with preference for the Denver metro area; remote work is supported.
About the role
The Lead Construction Inspector provides support to engineers and acts as an assistant construction project team leader and manager, responsible for coordination, execution, and construction management of engineering projects. Performs calculations using engineering formulas and assists with analysis for development and implementation of engineering and construction-related services. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget, supervises less experienced staff, and develops a solid team. This position may require long hours during construction season and minimal project-related hours during non-construction season.
Responsibilities
- Act as assistant construction project team leader and manager
- Coordinate and execute construction management of engineering projects
- Perform calculations using engineering formulas
- Assist with analysis for development and implementation of engineering and construction-related services
- Support field staff to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Supervise and mentor less experienced staff and technical support
- Develop and maintain a high-performing project team
- Embrace and apply evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows and solve problems
Requirements
- 5 years of related experience in municipal or DOT construction inspection
- DOT, ACI, or related certifications for Asphalt and/or Concrete preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and Outlook; ability to learn additional software packages
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong time management skills

Pay
Target base compensation range for this role is $38.00 – $51.50 per hour. Factors that may determine actual salary include job-specific skills, education, training, job location, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role.
