Responsibilities
- Identify and address field issues to maintain project progress.
- Monitor contractor compliance with plans, contract terms, and specifications.
- Schedule and coordinate various phases of construction inspections with contractors, DGS representatives, and other agencies.
- Review construction plans and inspect commercial or industrial buildings and other structures for compliance with applicable codes.
- Document all field activities and represent Dewberry and clients in high capacity.
- Make necessary changes to construction plans based on field conditions.
- Perform field measurements of pay items and observe contractor's construction equipment.
- Use common computer programs like MS Word and Excel for daily diary entries, quantity calculations, and other required tasks.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in construction inspection.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required.
- ICC, C5 Commercial Combination Inspector certification preferred.
- C2 Commercial Building Inspector certification preferred.
- C2 Commercial Building Inspector certification preferred.
- C2 Commercial Building Inspector certification preferred.
- C2 Commercial Building Inspector certification preferred.
- Proficient in document management and construction management software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to drive and maintain a clean driving record.
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively.
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or residential building construction processes and inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and inspection methods.
Skills
- Proficiency with document management software and construction management software (e.g., Smartsheet, SharePoint, FieldWire, GoCanvas, Plangrid, PowerBI).

The projected range for this position is $95,000 - $118,000 annually. The exact salary may vary based on additional factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
