About the role
Are you a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example, and keeping production running smoothly? We’re partnering with a growing manufacturer seeking a Lead Machine Operator to support daily production, guide shop-floor teams, and help drive results across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). This is a high-visibility role for someone who enjoys balancing leadership, problem-solving, and hands-on manufacturing work.
Schedule
5:30am to 4:00pm Monday-Thursday (3-day weekend)

Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day production activities across multiple machines or work cells to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets
- Promote a strong safety-first culture by reinforcing PPE usage, 5S, and safe work practices
- Ensure products meet quality standards, work instructions, process control plans, and customer requirements
- Coordinate workflow, shift priorities as needed, and reduce downtime to achieve production goals
- Train, coach, and support operators to build consistency, accountability, and team performance
- Troubleshoot routine equipment or process issues and partner with Maintenance when needed
- Track and report production metrics including labor, scrap, and downtime
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Materials teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with material flow and inventory coordination to keep production running efficiently
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of lead, supervisor, or senior operator experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience (CNC machining experience is strongly preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and use standard measuring tools
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
