About the role
Produces manufactured parts by operating and maintaining CNC machines, fabricating parts according to blueprint design while ensuring quality, precision, and consistent safety.
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in manufacturing
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- High school diploma, technical training, and/or equivalent professional experience
Responsibilities
- Follow written/verbal directions and work procedures
- Apply basic tooling and CNC machinery knowledge
- Load and unload parts into CNC machinery
- Operate machines to produce parts to specifications
- Set up, read, and adjust gauges; perform tool touch-off
- Understand and work with machine codes
- Load programs into the machine and perform dry runs
- Inspect and test parts for function and dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments
- Make judgments, initiate corrective actions, and adjust machines as required
- Edit programs based on set-up sheets or programmer instructions
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Assume responsibility for work quality, product loss, and equipment operation
- Write tool programs
- Train and supervise Level I and II operators on part quality and shop safety
Skills
- Decision-making on quality-related issues
- Blueprint reading and inspection using standard tools and gauges
- Proficiency in CNC machining applications
- Basic machine shop math and trigonometry
- Basic computer data entry skills
Working Environment
- Required to lift up to 50 lbs
- Carry parts between stations safely
Reports to the Production Supervisor.
