Lead Clinical Social Worker Adult/Adolescent Flex Unit - Full Time

About the role

As a Lead Clinical Social Worker at Pine Rest, you will function as a clinical leader and supervisor within a designated unit(s), assuming responsibility for a group of patients/clients. You will develop treatment approaches, direct care, and ensure appropriate level of care is determined in collaboration with families, referral sources, and insurance providers. Responsibilities

• Assess and prioritize patient/client treatment needs, including discharge needs.
• Implement plan of care and collaborate with the clinical team to assure a uniform approach.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy or interventions; conduct psychosocial assessments, including assessment of co-occurring disorders.
• Provide input to the interdisciplinary treatment plan as a team member.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with assigned patients/clients, including engaging, de-escalating, screening, and managing crises.
• Serve as a liaison between community resources, family, patient/client, and hospital- or clinic-based providers of care.
• Ensure appropriate length of stay based on continual reassessment of patient’s/client’s progress toward goals.
• Monitor and report any potential risk to patient safety that could lead to an adverse outcome.
• Document and report all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.
• Utilize processes to conserve financial resources.
• Create a customer/client-friendly environment by maintaining professionalism and positive relationships with departments, co-workers, and external customers.
• Collaborate with manager regarding internship needs and other departmental activities.
• Work in various clinical settings with diverse patient/client populations with complex needs.
• Promote positive communication between staff members.
• Act as lead in establishing performance improvement activities and serving on committees as needed.
• Assist manager in department performance appraisals by collecting and/or completing input forms and writing appraisals when appropriate.
• Take an active role in the training needs of staff, including orientation, competency assessment, and identifying ongoing training needs.
• Role model the mission and values of the organization, presenting a professional image in appearance, attitudes, behaviors, time management, and communication skills.
• Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients.
• Demonstrate commitment to the Hospital and Residential Services Model of Care.
• Uphold the healing ministry of Christ through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, and professional excellence.
• Supervise Clinical Social Workers as needed.
• Play a leadership role in program development.
• Function as a clinical leader, delegating/coordinating clinical social worker staff assignments, problem-solving, and promoting staff development.
• Collaborate in follow-up with disciplinary action.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required in social work or psychology.
• For Substance Abuse programs: Master’s degree required in behavioral health sciences and two years post-graduate work in substance use disorder treatment; additional two years of post-graduate mental health work preferred.
• Current licensure (Master’s Prepared only) in the field of social work, psychology, or nursing.
• Three years of mental health experience, with the ability to independently assess patient needs and implement effective plans of care.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures within the field.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 scheduled weekly hours on the first shift.
