Lead Clinical Lab Scientist

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in medical laboratory technology, medical laboratory science, or clinical laboratory science AND 4 years' Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) laboratory training or experience.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology AND 2 years' CLIA laboratory training or experience.
• Licensure/ Certification: If highest level of education is associate’s degree: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
  • Other qualifications: Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology AND American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

Skills/Knowledge

• Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively and communicate with patients and other health care professionals and to lead day to day activities of the laboratory section.
• High level of professionalism and skillful performance in stressful situations.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills necessary to interpret test results, analyze lab data, and identify trends or anomalies in patient results.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Moderate proficiency with Microsoft applications and solid computer skills.

Pay

Expected pay for this position is $36.39 - $42.81/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
