Lead Change Management/Trend Program

About the role

Bechtel is proud to play a critical role in the U.S. transition to cleaner energy and offers an opportunity on the Thacker Pass Project. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill.

Responsibilities

• Performs generally non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
• Coordinates the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
• Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
• Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
• Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
• Investigates the requirements for estimating and/or cost control data
• Collects and classifies cost data
• Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
• Identifies cost trends for management attention
• Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons

Requirements

• B.S. degree required; preferred in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 9-10 years of experience in home office and/or field non-manual position for a major EPC firm, or equivalent.

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to chair an inter-discipline weekly trend meeting with internal and external clients.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
• Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill in presenting information to management/clients.
• Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel, is desired but not required.
• Previous experience in estimating or as a trend engineer is a plus.
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (PowerBI is strongly desired).
• Ability to effectively interface with multiple personnel and produce deliverables on time and with high quality.
• Able to work independently to meet project deadlines.
