Lead Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA

About the role

Kauai Care Center is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Waimea on the west side of Kauai. Our mission is to support recovery and promote faster recovery through personalized plans that foster a harmonious environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform, coordinate, and schedule services and activities in the resident care department.
• Provide assistance to the Director of Nursing Services and/or Designee, as needed.
• Maintain a positive physical and social environment for the residents with compassion and desire to work with the elderly.
• Act as a liaison between nursing staff and Nursing Managers, promoting teamwork in the provision of services for residents.
• Ensure nursing staff are performing at accepted levels to meet resident care needs and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with staffing changes and resident status changes, communicating with the DON/Designee.
• Communicate assignments and schedules to staff, assist with securing staff during sick calls, and modify schedules when necessary.
• Notify the DON of short staffing situations and contact replacement personnel as needed.
• Facilitate the timely completion of paperwork and data entry as needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CNA Certification in the state, in good standing, and able to perform duties and responsibilities as a CNA when assigned and providing care to the residents.
• A minimum of 3 months prior CNA experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
