Essential Duties

  • Attend weekly peer to peer committee meetings to offer insight on changes in behavior for residents, suggest desired training for floor staff, and inquire about additional resources.
  • Assist with scheduling issues at shift change: Assign sections amongst staff in the event of a call off. Assist in reaching out to staff to help cover shifts in the event of a call off. Ensure scheduled staff have shown up for their shift.
  • Facilitate solution resolution in staff conflicts: Use leadership qualities to help your peers reach a resolution when an issue comes forth.
  • Help to monitor the usage of supplies on the floor: Ensure staff members are using linen, gloves, and various other supplies in an efficient way. Report in weekly meetings feedback on the week's supply utilization.
  • Display general leadership qualities: Help fellow CNA's to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Aid in holding fellow CNA's accountable to high levels of care. Engage in conversations with staff whose performance is falling short.
  • Assist peers with tasks to minimize overtime.
  • Assist in supervising peer performance on the floor.

Qualification

  • Must possess, as a minimum, an 10th grade education.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Reasoning Ability: Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of the state.
  • CPR is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk and talk, read or hear.
  • Frequent use of all office related equipment to include copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator.
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
