Short Description
- Washing, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing instruments/equipment
- Maintaining accurate monitoring records
- Using and interpreting chemical and biological indicators
- Performing appropriate cleaning of all sterilization equipment
- Assisting OR personnel in locating/reprocessing instruments
- Participating in performance improvement activities
- Following established policies & procedures
- Communicating openly with internal customers and supervisors
- Providing excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians
Experience Required
- 2 years experience in decontamination and sterilization of supplies, surgical instruments, and equipment.
- 2 years experience in specific areas of focus including but not limited to surgical instrumentation, information management, or department inventory control. (Preferred)
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, initiative and ability to take independent action, and be capable of establishing and maintaining outstanding working relationships.
Education Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of a Central Sterile Processing course is required.
Licenses/Certifications Required
- CSP Certification (CRCST or CBSPD Certification).
Special Requirements
- Must maintain certification.
