Short Description

• Washing, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing instruments/equipment
• Maintaining accurate monitoring records
• Using and interpreting chemical and biological indicators
• Performing appropriate cleaning of all sterilization equipment
• Assisting OR personnel in locating/reprocessing instruments
• Participating in performance improvement activities
• Following established policies & procedures
• Communicating openly with internal customers and supervisors
• Providing excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians

Experience Required

• 2 years experience in decontamination and sterilization of supplies, surgical instruments, and equipment.
• 2 years experience in specific areas of focus including but not limited to surgical instrumentation, information management, or department inventory control. (Preferred)
• Must possess excellent customer service skills, initiative and ability to take independent action, and be capable of establishing and maintaining outstanding working relationships.

Education Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a Central Sterile Processing course is required.

Licenses/Certifications Required

• CSP Certification (CRCST or CBSPD Certification).

Special Requirements

• Must maintain certification.
