NUWAY Alliance is seeking a full-time Lead Central Access Coordinator to work at our administrative location in South Minneapolis.

About the role

Working with the Admissions Director, this position ensures fidelity to internal admissions and funding processes, assigns intake paperwork and assessments, and aligns client funding sources at the time of admission. The Lead Central Access Coordinator monitors all pending funding, ensures follow-up, and performs benefits verifications with insurance companies and counties. This role interfaces with referral sources, funding sources, staff, and clients while maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with state, federal, and HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to internal admissions and funding processes.
  • Assign intake paperwork and assessments to appropriate staff.
  • Align client funding sources during admission.
  • Monitor and follow up on pending funding.
  • Perform benefits verifications with insurance companies and counties.
  • Interface with referral sources, funding sources, staff, and clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality per state, federal, and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an AA degree in a related field.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in substance use disorder and/or mental health, preferably in an addiction treatment facility.
  • High degree of computer literacy, including experience with an electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Excellent written, communication, customer service, and case management skills.
  • Able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study.
  • Maturity, patience, understanding, and empathy for recovering individuals.
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team and relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in understanding, following, and communicating instructions in English.
  • Able to document services in writing formatted in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience as a skilled consultant and facilitator.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, investigation, and mediation skills.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Daily use of general office equipment.
  • Lifting (maximum 10 pounds), minimal reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to navigate program or office environments, including ascending/descending steps, passing through doorways, and accessing facilities.
