About the role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Budtender to join our growing and talented team! The Lead Budtender is responsible for working alongside the dispensary team in a retail environment that serves both medical patients and adult use customers. This position reports to the General Manager (GM).
Responsibilities
- Participates in helping develop policies and process related to regulations, products, systems, and dispensary operations
- Helps promote and support company best practices across all dispensary locations
- Identifies and trains preceptors at the dispensary to help facilitate consistent training across all locations
- Facilitates necessary changes in customer-facing communication in partnership with the GM, Retail Operations Manager and the Marketing team
- Trains newly hired Budtenders on dispensary policies, procedures, and the use of cannabis-based products
- Records notes when requested in any team meeting and can lead and conduct meetings when requested
- Aids in developing and implementing streamlined communication to all dispensary staff
- Trains and supports customer education and support initiatives
- Assists with enforcing and supporting all Budtender staff on processes and procedures, including cleaning and sanitation standards
- Represents the bartender as a Green Goods Role Model displaying the company core values
- Participates in company initiatives to achieve set goals and performance indicators; contributes to team success by accomplishing related results as needed
- Aids in the incoming orders, shipments, and deliveries of supplies
- Serve as a solution-focused leader by identifying opportunities to improve company goals, directives, and operational performance
- Complete other tasks/projects as assigned
- Work effectively with leadership to balance responsibilities between Budtender and Lead Budtender duties, including: Serving in a Budtender role while remaining responsible for Lead Budtender duties. Transitioning into a Budtender role when scheduled as a Lead Budtender based on business need. Supporting operational needs at any dispensary location.
- Required to fill job descriptions set forth as a Budtender
- Follows all process and regulations related to dispensing cannabis products to customers
- Follows all implanted SOPs
- Aids in the preparation, setting up, and finalizing the dispensation process of cannabis products in compliance with applicable regulations maintained by the Office of Cannabis Management
- Maintains an organized workflow; verifies preparation and labeling of products, verifies order entries and charges
- Flexible availability including but not limited to weekends and evenings
Requirements
- A high school diploma and 1-3 years experience in a retail environment
- 1-2 years of direct management experience preferred
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Proficiency with MS Office required
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to communicate effectively with patients, families, and co-workers
- Prompt attendance to shifts and responsible time management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- A lifelong learner willing to stay on top of the constant changes of the cannabis industry
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
