About The Role

The Lead Brand / UI Designer will play a foundational role in defining the visual and interaction language of our in-vehicle experiences. This position sets the quality bar for how brand, motion, and UI come together inside the vehicle—shaping how users perceive, trust, and emotionally connect with our products.

Responsibilities

  • Define and refine a high-fidelity visual and interaction language for in-vehicle experiences across UI, motion, and animation.
  • Design cluster gauges, widgets, and core UI elements aligned with the Hyundai Motor Group brand language and future-forward automotive standards.
  • Create and execute premium micro-interactions and micro-animations in both 2D and 3D that elevate perceived quality and brand expression.
  • Create a cohesive mini-style system (visual + motion) that can be extended, evolved, and scaled across features and platforms.
  • Produce high-quality, high-fidelity design deliverables that clearly communicate intent and build confidence with internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with UX, engineering, product, and brand partners to ensure design vision translates into production-ready solutions.
  • Maintain a high bar for craft, consistency, and polish, incorporating best practices in motion, interaction, and real-time UI.
  • Support execution from concept through delivery, ensuring brand integrity and design quality at every stage.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in UI, UX, brand, or interaction design, with strong exposure to automotive, mobility, or embedded systems.
  • Proven experience designing in-vehicle UI/HMI, including clusters, widgets, and system-level UI elements.
  • Strong expertise in motion design and micro-interactions, including 2D and 3D animation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate brand language into scalable UI and motion systems.
  • Experience working with or alongside real-time engines, advanced visualization, or 3D pipelines (e.g., Unity or similar).
  • Exceptional visual craft, attention to detail, and design judgment.
  • Able to set creative direction while remaining hands-on and execution-focused.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and global teams.
