Lead Barista PT

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Starbucks Lead Barista to join our dynamic team at the Omaha Marriott at the Capitol District. In this role, you will supervise other baristas, assist with orders, and craft beverages while contributing to the exceptional guest experience our hotel is known for. Located in the heart of downtown Omaha, our upscale hotel offers world-class hospitality and is ranked among the leading hotels in the city.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the manager's absence and train new team members.
• Provide quality beverages consistently for all customers, preparing Starbucks beverages to standard.
• Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
• Ascertain guest satisfaction; in the event of dissatisfaction, tactfully negotiate an accommodation.
• Comply with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, cash drawer, and house bank management.
• Balance house bank at the end of the shift.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard outlet cleaning products to adhere to health standards.

Requirements

• Previous Barista experience is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and work under pressure.
• Must be able to learn all menu items and up-selling techniques.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and total charges.
• Ability to effectively resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check totals.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and Point of Sale procedures to handle cashier functions.
