Lead

About the role

The Production Lead role supports the Associate Production Supervisor in providing leadership and direction to groups of non-exempt employees. The role involves coordinating people resource requirements, assisting in department budget planning, communicating daily plans, addressing production and customer service issues, managing material shortages, interfacing with maintenance and test support, tracking time for new product introduction (NPI), rework, and updating communication boards. Additionally, the Production Lead acts as the primary contact for addressing scrap occurrences.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-job coaching and training to individuals.
• Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
• Cook up and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
• Coordinate people resource requirements for the department.
• Aid in department budget planning and manage department expenses.
• Communicate daily plans and address production or customer service issues.
• Highlight material shortages and interface with Expediter/Purchasing on any part shortages.
• Report and alert resources concerning downtime.
• Interface with Test Support/Maintenance on equipment problems.
• Track time for NPI/Pre-production/rework.
• Communicate with opposite shift to ensure communication flow.
• Update department communication boards.
• Follow quality indicators and alert resources if predefined indicators are below target.
• Act as the primary contact for responding to situations where scrap is occurring in any process step.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, vocational or technical training, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Ability to adapt and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.

Pay

Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a rotating shift position, with hours typically ranging from 0600a-0600p.
