Lead, Assembly
About the role
Polaris Inc. is seeking a team lead to provide guidance to assigned functional areas and manage projects. The role requires promoting a positive environment, ensuring safety and efficiency, and leading continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily work direction and prioritize workload within their function(s)
- Responsible for department/shift in absence of supervision
- Motivate team members to meet deadlines and productivity goals
- Lead continuous improvement efforts
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve bottlenecks, process failures, incomplete procedures, and training deficiencies
- Use a data-driven problem-solving approach to make fact-based decisions
- Monitor key metrics to assess safety, quality, engagement, delivery, and cost
- Actively engage and collaborate with team for improvements of safety, quality, delivery and cost
- Provide root cause & short-term corrective action for customer service and quality issues
- Aid in troubleshooting problems within the function
- Ensure the training of associates
- Report violations of policies and procedures to supervisor
- Attend and actively participate in start of shift meetings daily
- Trained in security and emergency response details
- Spend 90% of time on the floor and 10% of time behind the computer
- Work on floor as assigned
Requirements
- Prefer a 2 year degree from an accredited institution
- Previous experience in a distribution center environment
- Polaris experience preferred
- Experience leading teams preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience

- Ability to acquire a forklift license

- Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business

- Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations
- Must be flexible with schedule to cover OT and absentee
Physical Demands
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or moved up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds
Pay and Benefits
The starting pay range for California is $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime. Individual pay and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
