Lead Application Support Engineer

About the role

The Lead Application Support Engineer provides technical support for applications in daily operations, collaborates with development teams, infrastructure partners, and clients to resolve incidents, maintain knowledge bases, implement disaster recovery scripts, identify automation opportunities, and contribute to application design and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Verify analysis performed by team members and implement changes required to prevent reoccurrence of incidents
• Resolve critical application alerts in a timely fashion including production defects, providing business impact and analysis to teams, handling minor improvements as needed
• Review and update knowledge articles and runbooks with application development teams to confirm information is up to date
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide answers to application issues and escalate as needed
• Validate and submit responses to requests for information from ongoing audits
• Review and implement Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, providing BCM evidence as needed
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort associated with application monitoring
• Partner with development teams to provide input into the design and development stages of applications
• Implement the pre-production/production application code deployment plans and end‑to‑end vendor application upgrade process (e.g., SNOW, SF, etc.)
• Align risk and control processes into day‑to‑day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risk; escalate appropriately

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any), Technology Management or related field and 6 years of experience in the job or related position; OR a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any), Technology Management or related field and 4 years of experience in the job or related position

• Java/J2EE, IBM Integration Bus/IBM ACE, IBM WebSphere Message Queue, Linux/Windows Scripting, Splunk, Bitbucket/Jira/Git, Database Querying, SNOW/ITIL, Autosys, OpenShift Container Platform
• Key Platform experience: Linux/Unix, AWS
• Domain knowledge: Finance and Securities

Location: Coppell, TX (telecommuting may be permitted a few days a week).
