Lead Andrologist
About the role
The Lead Andrologist supports the day-to-day operations of the andrology laboratory in partnership with the Laboratory Director, helping ensure efficient workflows and consistent, high-quality service delivery. This role serves as a technical resource by providing training, guidance, and troubleshooting support to laboratory staff while maintaining compliance with laboratory protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in a patient-focused clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day lead for andrology and endocrinology laboratory operations, supporting workflow coordination and continuity of patient care.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to laboratory team members while promoting competency, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
- Support quality control (QC), quality management (QM), and regulatory compliance initiatives, including CAP readiness, in partnership with the Laboratory Director and leadership team.
- Care for andrology procedures and provide hands-on support for clinical laboratory operations as needed.
- Coordinate specimen transfers, approvals, and electronic medical record (EMR) updates.
- Coordinate egg thaw and rebiopsy scheduling in collaboration with the Laboratory Director and leadership team.
- Maintain cryostorage inventory, documentation, and reporting to ensure accurate records and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee SART database updates in collaboration with the Virtual Assistant (VA) and ensure timely filing of semen analysis reports.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and coordinate supply ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels and uninterrupted operations.
- Support process improvement initiatives, implementation of best practices, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, or an Associate's degree in Biological Sciences with substantial experience required.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting required. One or more years of experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective team collaboration. Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory software systems. Familiar with lab protocols and committed to ongoing professional development. Comfortable using office equipment and managing electronic records.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $32.00 - $45.00 (Final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications.) Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare, dental, life, and vision insurance. Additional benefits include generous paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and a retirement savings program.
