About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android developer to contribute to the development of consumer mobile applications that utilize web services and require expertise in modern Android technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to address complex problems.
• Share technical solutions and product ideas with the broader team through design review, code review, and show-and-tell sessions.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products.
• Develop applications for the Android platform, ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Work with Platform APIs to control OS/Device, custom launchers, Android Management API, Device Policy Manager, and profile management.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality.

Requirements

• Experience in developing Android apps on the Play Store, with expertise in Jetpack Compose and Compose UI.
• Experience with location/map APIs.
• Proficiency in Gradle, Android Studio, Java, Kotlin, Retrofit, and Room.
• Knowledge of MVI & MVVM, OOP, OOD, DDD, and SOLID principles.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Experience building mobile applications that utilize web services (REST-based, JSON, Thrift, or similar).
• Good knowledge of Material Design.
• Thorough understanding of Agile Software Development.
• Proficiency in JIRA/Confluence for product development.
• Experience with source control tools like Git and continuous deployment/integration processes.
• Expert knowledge of Kotlin, modern Jetpack libraries, system-level Android permissions, and custom AOSP builds or privileged system app development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Pay

GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role in Alpharetta, Georgia to be $130,000 to $140,000 (base salary only). The amount offered may vary based on candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, and other factors.
