Android Technical Lead

Provides expert level IT technical lead services, including the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation, and integration of new and existing technologies and tools. This hybrid position is based in Charlotte, NC, with in-office work required Tuesday through Thursday. Relocation assistance can be provided for non-local US candidates. No visa sponsorship will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Participate in system analysis, design, development, and implementation for existing native mobile applications.
• Translate stories into design and code, developing well-engineered code and test artifacts backed by automated tests.
• Elevate code into test and production environments on schedule, providing follow-up production support.
• Submit change control requests and documentation.
• Follow Agile software development methodology.
• Communicate technical issues effectively to all stakeholders.
• Lay out a technical vision for the product.
• Work with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to prioritize work, balancing business value and technical debt.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, and testable code.
• Experience leading native mobile app development teams.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and demonstrate hands-on understanding.
• Understanding of design patterns, integration patterns, data modeling principles, and best practices.
• Strong track record of project delivery for large cross-team projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with engineers, managers, PMs, and customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred, or relevant experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years as a mobile developer.
