Lead Android Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Android Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will shape and scale a mobile experience that serves a large and highly engaged user base. You will lead delivery of complex Android features from concept through release while partnering closely with product, design, and engineering teammates. The position also includes technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and mentorship to help raise the quality and consistency of the Android codebase. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 annually Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable application features using GCP services Drive complex product features from conception to delivery, overseeing the entire development lifecycle Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new features and enhancements Evaluate AI tools and workflows to boost productivity and improve code quality Lead architecture discussions and propose long-term scalable technical solutions Mentor junior engineers through active collaboration and code reviews Establish and uphold engineering standards and best practices for code quality Qualifications 7+ years of experience building and shipping Android applications Expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development Experience with Jetpack Compose and XML for UI development Proficiency in designing Android application architectures such as MVVM and Clean Architecture Deep understanding of Android fundamentals, including lifecycle and threading Experience integrating networked APIs and handling errors End-to-end ownership of Android features from design to release Strong communication and teamwork skills Benefits Work on impactful projects for millions of users Growth opportunities in a mentorship-focused engineering team Inclusive culture that emphasizes respect and joy Access to competitive compensation, equity, and top-tier benefits Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
