Join our grid modernization and distribution planning team, assisting power and utility clients with technical and economic challenges. This role focuses on power supply planning studies, particularly in distribution planning.

About the role

Under the supervision of a consultant or project manager, you will develop solutions for power and utility clients, conducting power system studies that evaluate power plants (fossil fuel and renewable) and delivery systems (transmission and distribution). These studies include:

  • Power supply planning
  • Due diligence
  • Performance and benchmarking evaluations
  • Site assessments
  • Investment planning
  • Condition assessments
  • Financial cost/benefit evaluations
  • Renewable development

You will apply engineering, financial, and economic theories to interpret and complete assigned tasks, analyze life-cycle costs, and support technical assessments related to regulatory rules. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Designing, reviewing, and modifying project drawings
  • Supporting power system planning and operations analysis (power flow, transient, stability, short circuit, electromagnetic transients, reliability, and economic dispatch)
  • Conducting transmission/distribution study analysis using power system software
  • Performing technical and business-related risk assessments
  • Developing detailed financial analysis using computer-based software
  • Creating technical reports and presentations summarizing analysis results
  • Preparing client presentations, engineering reviews, financial analysis, and contract administration for utility system design and planning
  • Supporting Utility Consulting business lines as required by clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited program
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of standard engineering techniques, principles, and procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications include a minimum 3.0 GPA and involvement on campus or in the community. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located without requiring sponsorship.

Pay

Annual compensation range: $90,000 – $135,000. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
