Electrical Power Design and Analysis Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Lead)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking an Electrical Power Design and Analysis Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Lead) in support of the Electrical Engineering Core Group. This onsite position in Oklahoma City, OK, offers an opportunity to develop new solutions, grow professionally, and mentor the next generation of engineers, with a potential path toward the Boeing Technical Fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, test, and verify Electrical Power requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of various Boeing systems.
• Review supplier and partner qualification data to ensure compliance with Boeing and FAA electrical power requirements.
• Perform Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA) on multiple platforms in accordance with MIL-E-7016 and MIL-STD-704.
• Lead and coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.
• Solve problems and provide support for fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
• Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, generating bids and requirements, and providing work statements, budgets, and schedules.
• Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
• Model the power generation, storage, and dissipation behavior of the Electrical Power Subsystem under various mission scenarios.
• Identify, track, and status technical performance measures to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Conduct detailed trade studies and generate reports to communicate engineering recommendations.
• Lead development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.
• Develop automated test equipment to support aircraft test requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work.
• 2+ years’ related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using power measurement test and measurement instrumentation (such as power supplies, power meters, and analyzers).
• Familiarity with Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA) concepts and MIL-E-7016.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, as required.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
• This position is 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Preferred Qualifications

• (Level 3) 5+ years’ related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• (Level 4) 9+ years’ related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
• Experience writing/verifying Electrical Power requirements.
• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a Master’s/PhD in electrical engineering.
• Active U.S. Security Clearance.
• Experience in the design, analysis, integration, and verification of Electrical Power generation, distribution, and/or regulation systems.
• Knowledge and experience establishing, designing, and verifying Power Quality requirements and testing in accordance with MIL-STD-704.
• Experience with power simulation tools.
• Experience with software scripting/programming languages for office products, test equipment programs, and/or modeling tools.
• Previous experience in Electrical Power Design and Analysis.

Pay

• Associate (Lvl 2): $85,000 – $115,000
• Experienced (Lvl 3): $104,550 – $141,450
• Lead (Lvl 4): $127,500 – $172,500

Oklahoma residents with an engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university in Oklahoma, not currently working in the aerospace sector, may qualify for a $5,000 tax credit from the state of Oklahoma for up to five years.
