Lead Alarm Inspector

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform inspections and functional testing of fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Ensure systems comply with NFPA standards, local codes, and manufacturer requirements
  • Produce detailed and accurate inspection reports, including deficiencies and corrective actions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during inspections
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior inspectors and technicians
  • Aid with troubleshooting, minor repairs, and system diagnostics
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Cookordinate schedules and communicate effectively with internal teams and customers
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Ensure all work meets company quality, safety, and productivity standards

Qualifications

  • NICET Certification (Level II or higher preferred; Level I minimum required)
  • 3+ years of experience inspecting fire alarm or related life safety systems
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, codes, and inspection procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot low-voltage electrical systems
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Preferred NICET Level II or higher
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Experience in leadership or mentoring roles
  • Experience with inspection software and reporting tools

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs
  • Comfortable working at heights and operating ladders or lifts

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed on active construction sites or customer facilities under varied climate conditions
  • Travel may be required based on customer needs
  • Overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines or emergency demands
