Lead Line Inspector
Responsibilities
- Inspect assembled UPS units and subcomponents (e.g., inverters, rectifiers, transformers, bypass switches) for electrical and mechanical conformity.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams against physical builds.
- Conduct inspections of AC power products including wiring, grounding, busing against workmanship standards.
- Evaluate proper torquing, cable routing, labeling, and hardware stack ups in accordance with layout diagrams.
- Document all findings, discrepancies in quality records and inspection checklist.
- Tag nonconforming units and coordinate with production and engineering to resolve issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring defects or process deviations.
- Collaborate with production line leads and assemblers to promote build quality and safety practices.
- Consult Oracle/PD Cloud or the current operating system for part revision numbers, location and availability of parts, quantity of parts, engineering changes, etc.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in electrical technology preferred.
- Strong understanding of AC power systems and UPS design principles.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office), Oracle EBS, Outlook, PowerPoint, CAD.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering teams.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, specifically with Product Planning and Verification Clauses.
- Experienced in lean manufacturing concepts, continuous improvement and/or Six Sigma methods.
- Familiar with torque wrenches, multi-meters and calibers.
- Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing or 2 years in an Inspection role.
About the Role
The AC Power Manufacturing Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Lithium-Ion Battery Cabinets, and other AC Power products through the manufacturing process. This role ensures all AC power-related components meet design specifications, electrical codes, and internal quality standards prior to the Testing phase in the manufacturing process. The inspector plays a key role in identifying defects, verifying safety compliance, and supporting root-cause analysis for continuous improvement.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement around manufacturing floor and test stations.
- Occasional kneeling, stooping, or climbing to access and inspect system components.
- Must be able to lift, carry and maneuver equipment or tools weights up to 50 pounds.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
