Lead AI/ML Engineer *

About the role

CGI is seeking a Lead AI/ML Engineer to develop and deliver AI‑powered Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions within a large‑scale financial services environment. The role focuses on document classification, information extraction, and document understanding using OCR, NLP, computer vision, and large language models. CGI partners with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, with top‑10 banking clients averaging 26‑year relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver AI‑powered IDP solutions, including document classification, information extraction, and understanding.
• Work hands‑on with Python, Java, AI/ML frameworks, and AWS services (e.g., Bedrock, SageMaker, Textract, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS) to build scalable solutions and integrate AI capabilities via APIs and microservices.
• Support model deployment, monitoring, MLOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Guide technical discussions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver reliable AI/ML solutions.
• Apply experience with mortgage, multifamily lending, commercial real estate, or broader financial services environments as valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years developing AI/ML solutions.
