Lead Agricultural Mechanic
About the role
The Lead Agricultural Equipment Mechanic will oversee all Ag Shop Operations, maintain parts inventory and order parts, schedule Harvest equipment repairs and maintain repair records, maintain service trucks and crew fleet vehicles, develop relationships with vendors, direct the Ag mechanics daily, complete weekly and monthly safety audits, fill in for Full-Time Ag mechanics, travel with harvest crew, and ensure an even, constant, and sufficient flow of product meeting or exceeding company standards during harvest season. This position also involves ensuring General Manufacturing Practices, safety rules and regulations are followed and enforced.
Responsibilities

- Develop relationships with vendors
- Direct the Ag mechanics daily
- Complete weekly and monthly safety audits
- Fill in for Full-Time Ag mechanics, when needed
- Travel with harvest crew, when needed
- Ensure an even, constant, and sufficient flow of product meeting or exceeding company standards during harvest season
- Ensure that GMP's (General Manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced
Requirements
- One (1) to three (3) years of related mechanical experience
- One (1) to three (3) years of supervisory experience
- Valid Drivers License. A CDL would be beneficial but not required
- Basic use of hand and power tools is required. Must have own hand tools
- Welding and fabrication skills would be a plus
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Able to read and write the English language
- Reliability and dependability are a must
- Position requires extended work hours during the harvest season
