Lead Agricultural Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to monitor product flow during harvesting, ensuring uninterrupted flow to the plants and relieving Harvester Operators when necessary. This role oversees all shop operations, assists with repairs, maintains repair records, and orders parts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Agricultural Shop Operations
• Maintain parts inventory and order parts
• Schedule harvest equipment repairs and maintain repair records
• Maintain service trucks and crew fleet vehicles
• Develop relationships with vendors
• Direct the Agricultural mechanics daily
• Complete weekly and monthly safety audits
• Fill in for Full-Time Agricultural mechanics when needed
• Travel with harvest crew when needed
• Ensure a constant and sufficient flow of high-quality product during harvest season
• Enforce GMP’s (General Manufacturing Practices) and safety rules and regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• One (1) to three (3) years of related mechanical experience
• One (1) to three (3) years of supervisory experience
• Valid Driver’s License (CDL beneficial but not required)
• Basic use of hand and power tools (must have own hand tools)
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to read and write in English
• Reliability and dependability
• Position requires extended work hours during harvest season
