Lead Accountant
Location: Inver Grove, Minnesota (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are supporting a finance shared services opportunity focused on month-end close, financial reporting, and the upkeep of general ledger activities. Our team is looking for a detail-oriented professional who can bring strong analytical thinking, sound technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to support accurate financial statements and reports.
- Reconcile, analyze, and review accounts during preparation for the month-end close process.
- Prepare journal entries, evaluate accounting classifications, and support accruals, allocations, and other complex entries.
- Assist with audits, close activities, internal controls, administrative processes, and special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with SAP systems or a similar large ERP system.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables, and summarize data from multiple sources.
