LCMS Sales Specialist (Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry)
About the role
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a LCMS Sales Specialist to promote and grow sales of Shimadzu’s premier LCMS portfolio, including LCMS Single Quad, LCMS-QQQ, Q-TOF, MALDI, CLAM, Applications Specific Accessory devices and Application Specific Software's. In this role, you will act as a consultative sales expert, taking full ownership of a defined territory (Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Upstate New York) and associated product lines while strategically developing the territory for sustainable year-over-year growth.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize new client opportunities; manage and grow existing accounts.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Provide consultative support and product guidance to customers.
- Deliver technical presentations and represent Shimadzu at trade shows and industry events.
- Leverage internal and external resources to meet customer needs.
- Coordinate with field application specialists and lab teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Operate in a collaborative, team-based sales environment.
- Share account insights and sales leads across functional teams.
- Generate quotes, negotiate terms, and manage the closing process.
- Ensure compliance with procurement processes and purchasing protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience with LCMS instrumentation.
- At least 1 year of successful capital equipment sales experience required.
- Two or more years of B2B direct sales experience in capital equipment sales is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to understand LCMS instrumentation, customer applications, and scientific workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective customer working relationships at all organizational levels.
- Proven experience in developing and executing sales and/or field marketing strategies to drive growth and account expansion.
- Proficient in the use of CRM systems for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Must be able to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Qualifications

Pay
This role is an exempt, full-time position that is benefits-eligible. The starting base salary range for this position is $96,000 to $98,000 annually, with compensation paid on a semi-monthly, exempt salaried basis. Additional variable compensation includes a commission plan based on sales territory performance, paid each payroll period. A discretionary year-end bonus may also be provided based on overall company performance.
Schedule
The position is not a remote WFH (work from home) role and requires frequent, near-daily customer site visits within the territory.
