Full-time position (1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week) located at the Learning Community Center of South Omaha (24th and M).
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM
- Fridays: 8 hours (daytime)
- One or two Saturdays per month
Responsibilities
- Oversee child learning providers and supervise Program Assistants at the Learning Community Center of South Omaha and its satellite programs.
- Manage the center facility, including opening, closing, supplies, and equipment.
- Communicate with contractors, the landlord, and IT staff to support effective cleaning and maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment.
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for staff, participants, and visitors.
- Collaborate with the Director to ensure the continuous safety of parents, children, visitors, and staff at the center.
- Serve as the on-site point person for visitors, families, and staff.
- Hire, orient, train, and oversee the day-to-day effectiveness of program assistants.
- Connect with other departments and satellites to develop projects for the program assistant team and ensure fair distribution of work.
- Oversee the transportation program at the center and its satellites.
- Maintain an updated work plan for the child learning team aligned with strategic goals and objectives.
- Establish a fair distribution of work duties among child learning staff.
- Manage staffing to ensure the team is neither over- nor understaffed during the program year and summer.
- Request supplies for child learning rooms and track expenses.
- Regularly visit satellite locations to ensure the entire team is supported.
- Ensure the environment in child learning rooms, the outside play area, and the center building are safe and positive learning spaces, with a focus on building social-emotional skills.
- Proactively work with child learning staff and participant families to identify when a child needs referral to outside resources for developmental delays or behavioral concerns.
- Help families connect to Head Start programs and high-quality preschool/PreK classes.
Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support the business, and responsibilities may evolve to meet the changing needs of the organization.
