Lay Coach - Girls Soccer

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with all assigned duties.
• Serve as a positive role model to players, parents, and community members.
• Teach sport techniques, playing rules, strategies, and tactics.
• Condition athletes appropriately within local and state guidelines for activities requiring endurance, strength, and agility.
• Preside over team activities, including all scheduled practices and games.
• Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility to the team.
• Monitor players' and other coaches' conduct during games.
• Manage equipment and playing facilities responsibly.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Report information to supervisor/Athletic Director.
• Follow all local school, CCSD, state, and federal guidelines and regulations pertaining to working with children and students.
• Communicate effectively with parents, athletic director, principal, and students through written and oral skills.
• Positively motivate student-athletes to learn sport strategies, maintain passing grades, and become positive school role models.

Requirements

• Ability to work well with student-athletes of various ability levels.
• Basic knowledge of the sport.
• Willingness to learn and follow District and state rules and guidelines regarding middle school sports.
• Prior coaching experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Neat, orderly, and honest.
• Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Adhere to expected policies and procedures.
• Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint Background Clearance.
